Newport International Boat Show announces Newport for New Products
Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show, announced Friday the results of this year’s Newport For New Products Awards.
Back Cove 32
The 32 boasts comfort, efficiency and classic down east lines. Cleverly packaged with an updated layout, the latest technologies, and all the nautically-sensible details Back Cove Yachts is known for. Split WC & shower stall, new island berth, and a convertible dinette makes it ideal for the modern cruising couple.
BEST POWERBOAT 35 FT. AND OVER and BEST POWERBOAT OVERALL
A classic statement on the water! The 72 offers many opportunities for customization; from propulsion to arrangement plan, to interior design and outfitting. The experienced owner of this particular boat will make the best use of all three.
Maine Cats latest refinement of its classic, open bridge deck designed with a forward or aft helm layout that offers 360-degree visibility. This high performance cruising catamaran is constructed with thermoformed Core-Cell foam coring with quadraxial E-glass infused with vinyl ester resin for all components. 10-year blister warranty.
Garmin has redesigned its popular GPSMAP 7600 chartplotter series to add a J1939 connection. This connection provides a dedicated CAN port for receiving engine data, a great option for the retrofit market (and new diesel and inboard customers), providing a level of integration that was previously unavailable.
Best New Boating Operation, Maintenance or Safety Product:
The new PureWater+ by Forespar combines space-saving sensibility with ease-of-use filter changes through a patented quick-connect design all performed above the countertop. The PureWater+ does not require under-counter filter access or a reservoir apparatus similar to other plumbed-in water purifiers, all with the full protection of carbon-block filtration.
NFNP entries were open to domestic and foreign products launched in the U.S. after April 1, 2016, that made their boat show debut at Newport. Show attendees selected the People’s Choice Award winner; all other category winners were selected by a team of industry experts on the basis of innovation, value to the consumer, safety and aesthetics.
“We were impressed by the number and quality of entries this year,” said Nancy Piffard, show director of Newport Exhibition Group. “We are honored to have these new and exciting introductions launched at the Newport International Boat Show.”
The Newport International Boat Show opened on Thursday and continues through Sunday on the Newport waterfront along America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, R.I.
